Friend reached out to teach him about crypto….turns out the only reason he was interested was to buy an oz of cocaine with it.

My mate knows that I trade crypto and spend a fair bit of time reading and learning about it.

The other day he asked me about a private crypto he had heard of which of course was Monero. He had a few great questions about it and seemed like he wanted to get investing.

I carefully explained the basics most importantly security and vigilance for scams. I pointed him to a good exchange and we made a wallet. He was ready to go. The beginning of an exciting crypto journey.

A few weeks later I went to his house to catch up and asked him how it was all going. Turns out he just got delivered an oz of cocaine which he purchased with the Monero I helped him acquire.

I felt a little dirty and also disappointed as I had invested a lot of time in him. Not the use case for crypto I wish to promote.
