Where did all the enthusiasm about mass-adoption of crypto vanish?

In the last year or more, every day that passes, brings us more crypto adoption and not just small players entering the cryptocurrencies, also the big ones. I mean you can order at McDonald’s with BTC, El Salvador went as far as adopting it as a currency. People buy stuff online with ETH. They are selling gamecodes for crypto slowly moving from PayPal. My local pc parts shop accepts BTC,ETH,ADA and DOT!
Yet I see almost no more enthusiasm about the mass adoption that many of us were only dreaming about not so long ago. Only a few years ago that was just a wet dream of crypto enthusiasts. 10 years ago even more so.
Where did all the enthusiasm vanish? We are finally breaking into actual mainstream usage and people are more concerned if its a bear or bull.
