Our aspirations for Moons are much higher than a mere dollar.
But, before I can go any further, we have to go back.
The year was 2020. It was a hot, summer day.
A Reddit post was made announcing r/CryptoCurrency Moons.
I don’t want to sound cliché, but my life hasn’t been the same since.
Before I go any further, we have to thank Rahul Kothari.
Who is Rahul, you ask? Well, firstly, please put some respect on his name.
He was (and still is) a lead crypto engineer for Reddit who risked being fired to orange pill us all on RCP.
Over 2 years ago, he fired off a (now deleted) tweet, saying:
Reddit has 500M monthly active users.
When we all pull this off, we would onboard 500M web2 users into web3 and then there is no going back.
Let me say that again – 500 million new crypto users.
His sacrifice to provide us the rumor, so we could sell hold the news, will not be forgotten.
At least, not by me. I need to reiterate, Rahul’s humanitarian act was not without sacrifice.
The shitstorm ensued. He went dormant on all social media and deactivated his Twitter.
Crypto news articles were written about him and I had feared the worst, that he’d be fired.
However, Reddit, for the first time ever, showed virtuousness. I was absolutely relieved.
With no mention of Rahul being fired and seeing that his name wasn’t scrubbed from Reddit, it provided a strong indicator he was still at the helm of the ship.
I knew then, that we were being steered in the right direction.
But, as we waited 800+ days, the doubters grew.
As Moons began falling in price, with little to no news at all, many felt duped.
Some were scared the lack of news meant Reddit might abandon the Community Points project all together.
To the credit of the doubters though, they had a point.
With nearly zero updates, the “When Mainnet” comments began to sting.
Fast-forward to today and the darkness of the “When Mainnet” days have become a far cry from where we stand now.
Our ability to hold our precious Moons, while avoiding taking profits is a strategic movement.
I have ruined relationships, missed bills and avoided hospital trips for the sake of holding moons. I may not have much and I have not been perfect with holding, but I see the horizon.
Moon’s prodigal son, Rahul, has recently resurfaced on Twitter, with the handle @omw_to_the_moon. An absolute legend.
As Moons reached a yearly high of $0.23 and are currently up over 100% today, it is clear.
We will hold Moons, even if it causes Reddit to get investigated by the SEC.
So, with all that being said, the goal for Moons is a top 100 spot on CMK, nothing less. Cheers.
