Yesterday, SBF walked out of a Manhattan federal court after being released for a $250 MILLION bond. Feds think it’s possibly the “highest ever pre-trial bond”.
I’d like to point out that even Bernie Madoff, who ran the largest ponzi scheme ever ($64.8Bn, 2x what FTX was) had a bail of only $10m. That’s 25x less than what SBF had to pay. His parents paid (cuz he only has 100k left lol) with the value of their Palo Alto house in CA.
Before leaving court, he got an electronic ankle monitor. He’s on house arrest now, living at his parents house.
What I find the REAL kicker is is that because it’s his first arrest and only a financial crime, he might not even get a life sentence. I guess $40bn wiped from investors isn’t enough to warrant a lifelong prison sentence.
Caroline has also pleaded guilty to seven charges. She might also get a life sentence.
