WSJ just released an article about an interview with FTX’s new CEO. He claims that FTX has set up a task force to ‘explore restarting’ FTX US. This is a horrible idea, for 4 reasons: – Why would anyone trust FTX? – FTX’s collapse hit mainstream media. It can’t recover. – Crypto has a horrible image after the collapse, with FTX being the cause. – It would be heavily scrutinized by the US government.
Mr. Ray said he would look into whether reviving FTX’s international exchange would recover more value for the company’s customers than his team could get from simply liquidating assets or selling the platform. “There are stakeholders we’re working with who’ve identified what they see is a viable business,” he said.
The people that put money into FTX must be coping so hard. This is ridiculous, and should be absolutely fucking outlawed. The fact that a company can just wipe $8bn of it’s clients value, steal it, launder it, laugh about it, then start admitting that they screwed up after finally being caught is horrifying.
What do you think about this?
