but as many of you probably have done as well, I too tried talking to my friends about crypto when I first started in 2021. Why wouldnt I? The gains were good and it seemed like a no brainer. Easy money
In the end, most of my friends still made fun of crypto and didnt take anything I said seriously even when BTC hit 69k. Sucks for them, I am only down -50% now! What a great investment. Fools …
Still the bear market had presented a great opportunity and one of my friends started his first job during the same time. He finally had some money to invest. Of course he was only interested in ETFs at first.
In January this year he popped the question to me: “How do I buy bitcoin? The price seems pretty good right now”. I was shocked. So I redirected him to coinbase and told him to do his thing and buy some bitcoin if he wanted. We didnt talk about it afterwards.
Last week he came back to me and thanked me. His investment is up a decent amount and he is very happy. Now he is looking to dca, starting this month. Still I held my tongue for the most part and told him that crypto is a risky investment and could go down at any point. BUT! He is not looking to sell and has become a hodler. ONE OF US
