Probably the strangest way of putting an anti-crypto article together: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2023/jul/15/ben-mckenzie-interview-oc-cryptocurrency. But reading critiques can be interesting (although film & TV reviewers aren’t always the best place to go for tech advice).
This article took about 12 paragraphs to get to the point: Dude thought crypto was going to fail, opened up a $250,00 short position and got wrecked. So now he really hates crypto.
McKenzie’s enthusiasm, and the surety of his predictions, ramped up. He essentially bet $250,000 that the crypto market would collapse but got the timing wrong and lost most of it. Did that make him question his position?
Whoops!
