So, this just occurred to me after reading a few articles, and also opinions of PayPal’s entry into the now saturated stablecoin market, and especially recent discussions regarding the ability of tether, circle and PayPal to freeze/block your funds.
This is naturally the major draw of DAI, being decentralized nobody can block your coins, but there is so much more going for it than that.
My opinion is we don’t need any of the centralized stables. DAI is beautiful to me, and it has never failed since inception. It has proven itself a viable, strong, secure dollar.
And now with the recent 8% interest offered entirely risk free by the Dai Savings Rate DSR, it is also a no brainer of an investment for everyone. Oddly, only 9% of DAI holders are currently taking advantage of this huge interest return, which is crazy given it is entirely without risk and backed by the mkr protocol.
DISCLAIMER: I do own MKR tokens and am invested in the ecosystem, but that is because i genuinely believe in it and it is the absolute king of stablecoins.
TLDR: STOP USING TETHER, USDC.
