No, 50Cent didn’t do anything “risky” by accepting bitcoin in 2014. Since he (or his company/management) converted the bitcoin payment right away into dollars.

This was an old news from 2018. Where of course where Bitcoin pumped big time. A celebrity trying to get some attention, tale as old as time.

The other posts already covered all the bankruptcy stuff and the documents where he stated that he didn’t really own any bitcoin and he actually lied
Although he already admitted himself that he lied, he declared chapter 11 bankruptcy back in 2015, court documents stated that he “has never owned, and does not now own, a bitcoin account or any bitcoin,” nor did any of his companies.
The thing here is I don’t think it’s in any way “risky” to accept payment in bitcoin back in 2014-2015. Most people who accept bitcoins back then probably just converted their BTCs straight to cash/fiat anyway.
People are painting him like he’s some crypto millionaire or a crypto saint. Well he’s neither. He accept bitcoin as a form of payment and converted to fiat right away.
