Seriously though, what is stopping people in power from scamming people with crypto? We have seen several different situations in which a celebrity or person with influence has abused their power by scamming their followers.
Most famous for our community would be Logan Paul. 223 days have passed since Logan Paul promised to compensate CryptoZoo scam victims with almost $2 million dollars but as you can guess… Not a scent has been paid. And why should he? Who is forcing him to do it?
Another situation of someone who you would deny knowing in front of your significant other… Porn star Lana Rhoades made off with $1.5 million worth of Ethereum in a NFT scam. She claims that she is not to blame for the theft after the community had become too โnegative and rudeโ toward her. Yeah ok…
The SEC is so focused on stopping the growth of crypto within the US that they aren’t really focused on cracking down on situations like this where influencers have the power to scam their followers.
Just sad…
