Thank you to this sub for saving me financially

This is my throwaway account, but back in 2021, I used to comment a lot and post here. At the time, Moons were still relatively new and very hard to trade. I had accumulated a bunch but never really checked their value or anything like that.

One day my car started leaking oil and I started to panic because it was my first ever car and I had bought it 2 months prior to the leak. It’s a jap economy shitbox, nothing special. My mechanic checked my car and estimated that it would cost around $1500 to fix. I was devastated because I was paying my student loans at the time and didn’t want to take out another loan. Out of desperation, I started to check my wallets to see if I had some left over coins. Nothing.

Then I remembered Moons! At the time, you had to use like a test net or something and interact with some “faucet.” Some tedious shit really, but I found out at the time that I had about 11k Moons accumulated from all the shitposting and commenting on this sub. I didn’t think it would be worth anything but I bridged my Moons and once I selected them in my wallet, it showed that I actually had about $1800! I immediately sold everything and had some price impact (salvaged $1400 in total).

So, special thanks to this sub and reddit for making this possible. It was the luckiest and most clutch moment I had that year. And I am forever grateful.
