Employee at a Crypto Platform Leaked My Information – Need Advice

Hey everyone,

I was just informed that my personal information was leaked by an employee of a well-known crypto platform, and I am fuming.

A couple days ago i had specifically contacted their customer service because someone had threatened to gain access to my information. I explicitly requested that no information about my account should be disclosed to anyone under any circumstances.

This person just informed me that they obtained the information from an employee. At first i thought it was a bluff until they disclosed accurate information about my email and telephone number as well as recent changes i made to this email adress since i had security concerns.

I’m reaching out to this community for advice on how to handle this situation and any potential legal actions I should consider. Here are the steps I’m currently taking:

i have demanded an immediate explanation and investigation from the platform into how this happened, why my request was ignored, and what actions they are taking against the employee responsible. I’m also asking for assurances that they will prevent this from happening.

If anyone has experience in pursuing legal action against a company for a data breach i‘d be glad to hear your story.
