The Metaverse is not Facebook, don’t let them win that one.

I have been seeing a lot of posts about the metaverse over the last six months. Which, for me, is exciting to see.

However, there is a lot of misinformation and this is one big point that absolutely needs clarifying:

Facebook is one company, the metaverse is a concept. They are not the same thing.

They annoyingly changed their name to Meta to try and take all ownership of anything metaverse related. Doubly annoying is that the association is being formed and the plan is actually working.

There are many metaverses and Facebook’s will be one of many.
