How are these Crypto Influencers (Shillfluencers) like BitBoy and countless others, relevant and with millions of followers?

I don’t get it. I’m yet to meet a positive opinion here about these influencers with the surprising pikachu faces on their YouTube thumbnails, but meanwhile they have millions of followers and literally billions of views.

I consider our sub to be the biggest and most educated part of the CryptoSphere, this is why i wonder who are those others that follow these professional shills. How are these huge fanbases built and who is actually following them. Anyone can spend a little bit of time here and can see how bad and deceiving they are, looking after their own gains. So many of them got caught plain lying and they still are out there shilling their new scam.

Can someone elaborate for me this mystery? Thanks.
