My vacation took me out of the loop and I probably needed it. BUT, it also reminded me of a bunch of things about our history that we so conveniently overlook much of the time.
The battle of blair mountain being one of them. It was only a short 100 years ago that that happened, which was the bloodiest event since the civil war. And it happened just shortly before the Tulsa Race Massacre which is becoming so prominent for people now considering the riots and race issues.
I mention the blair mountain issue more so because-it was a legitimate example of the big businesses shooting, killing, and harming workers using force and muscle. You may think it won’t come to that, but it DID, and with the way the economy is now, don’t think it couldn’t come to pass. Especially with Amazon and other mega corps so eager to use Chinese slave labor.
Long story short, we’re all hypocrites and this shit should stop. But it’s so nice getting stuff so cheap and mass produced. People have fallen into a lull and still allow the atrocities to continue.
