It’s been a hectic year. I feel that it’s that way for most, not just because of COVID, but more because of personal, business and all those crazy reasons that seem to pop up magically at the last second.

It’s hard to adjust your mindset to be positive or continue to move forward after some of the more deeply devastation or personal disasters have happened. I, myself, have had a heck of an end of a year, losing my longtime friend and cat, as well as some other personal misfortunes. I feel as though every event I enter is a struggle, and I may get only 2 out of every 3 things done, and some days it might be only 1.

But as I step back, I realize that the perspective is so important in looking at everything. It was a bad year, so to speak, but it can be a better one. I may have lost a friend, but I have enjoyed the moments I have spent. I may not get everything done, but at least I do get something accomplished, and so forth.

Life isn’t purely about gain, but about growth. Education through experiences, and boy, those tough ones really test you in body and spirit.

I was on a long drive in some back country and I passed this house. I think most would be disgusted, but I thought about how great it looked as a “spooky” house. It also reminded me of how far it came-what would it have looked like brand new, with fresh paint, intricate design, and all it’s elegance. That thought alone is the opposite of the depressing travesty of what it’s since become, rotting away. Life is like that all the time. It moves and changes, and appreciating it during it’s time is integral to enjoying it.

Technology moves, business moves, and evolution is quick. You need to be just as fast to keep up, but also to realize that enjoying it while you have it is the most important aspect of living in the moment.
