Holy Hell (on purpose) I was not ready for this movie. My wife was just saying how she wanted to see a movie that surprised us, and I expected something completely different. I can’t spoil it because you should watch it, but Hugh Grant gives an awesome performance as a terrifying villain without any jump scares. Just tension that you could slap in the air at any moment.

And there were plenty of moments where I expected it to go one way and then went completely different. And a few learning moments as well, which was a nice surprise. At one point-without spoiling it, I could have swore he made sense, but the situation is actually real. The things you might learn sometime.

Anyway, I really did enjoy the movie, and if you’re a fan of scares and slow tension, try it. It gets a little wordy in the middle, but pay attention and you might catch the subtle subterfuge in what they’re saying.

The New Year is here, and I’m now balancing a new position, plus everything else that I wanted to do that I like to add to the pile and not complete, so I’ll be doing my best to catch up. I took the last week and a half to recharge and sort of turn off, and it was quite nice. I realize that’s not a luxury for everyone to afford, but I was able to take time away from podcasts, writing, video work and more to just relax in a way.
