Oh man, revisiting a topic really quickly here.
This isn’t the trans issue, but now the Ice Skating cheating issue. And it’s pretty much the same. We KNOW the Russians are cheating. It’s blatantly obvious. It’s PAINFULLY obvious. And yet, we’re all obviously tolerating it. Which leaves you with 2 options, really. Either don’t compete-and walk off the ice. That would be a nice mark on the Olympics, but then again, this is already a mark on the Olympics. There’s asterisks all over from the cheating scandals.
Or option 2, be better. I guess that’s easier said than done, but it’s also a point that this young woman is 15 years old. I don’t know how much of a prodigy you have to be in that sport, or if she’s having the Olympics of her life, but somehow I feel that if you’re going to go out there, you should at least shoot for the best that you can be, right? Even more so now that you’ve got a known cheater in your midst. Maybe pull a Tanya on her or something. Just Kidding. I dunno, but it’s also amazing that she can come and clear the field at 15. Who knows? I don’t watch much figure skating so this is foot-into-mouth.
Either way, it’s a sham and the Olympics should be shamed that they gave into the Russians. Can they have any credibility after that? Who knows? Do we watch anymore? Is anything real? Is this a cherry on top of COVID and anything else?
