Again, I feel that sometimes life just leads you into places you’re meant to go or see. In this case, just strap in.
I met this guy-Benny Goodman-when he was selling some camera lenses I was interested in. I got a good deal AND and interesting story about a 1951 Gibson that *COULD* be the grand daddy prototype of them all. I didn’t play it, but I got to hold it. I didn’t want to play it in fear I’d do something clumsy and drop it, which HAS happened to me and if anyone would do it, it’s probably me. Anyway, this thing could be priceless, which is a neat story all on it’s own, but if you have a chance follow Benny for some cool stuff. This dude is pretty interested in all things guitar and in his normal looking house he hides about 180 guitars and various musical things that keep nerds like us busy for days.
Anyway, I hope it’s not the last conversation I have with him, and I also hope that it IS the holy grail of guitars ’cause it’s just such a fascinating story. Check him out here:
