It’s the end of the month and I’m due for a new post. I’m trying to do one a month at least here, although I would like to do more. I’ve found myself more busy and then less busy, but it’s always good to stick to a rhythm. So I’m keeping with the once a month, because if I can write an article, get a blog post out, get videos editing and put out designs, then I should be able to do at least one.
If you haven’t paid attention: I still write for The Creator’s Handbook
I film and edit for the Institute for Artificial Intelligence at Northeastern University
I still work on outside projects for my own companies, PM Studios and JMinner Weddings
I’m finally utilizing my 3d printing and CNC design work, which I’ll probably link in a few posts when I get the infrastructure up and running.
I had a reddit post on scary things happening posted through a compilation on Youtube
I do a lot of work with 3d design with my wife with her businesses at Amy Minner Design and Black Bean
And I have a few other projects in the works and things I deal with weekly that I don’t mention or am still working on. Whew. But it’s all fun, and you can’t enjoy it or begin to enjoy it without some good organization. That being said, you should really take time and make sure that the things that you do are well organized. I find that if you break them down in the most simple way-it’s easy to get done. That sounds dumb, but the truth of it is, the harder something is, the more that you WON’T do it. Even if it’s amazing, people often have the propensity to give up. I don’t blame them as I do often too. I get really excited about ideas, get about halfway done with them and then have a really great POTENTIAL project sitting around while I find something else that makes my interested. I think a lot of people do that, because often times-that last 10% of a project is the hardest part and takes the most time, but it’s also what actually gets it done. People don’t want to do it, or find themselves at the precipice of the final lap and can’t bring themselves to finish for whatever reason. It’s really hard to force yourself to work on things too-especially when there’s no incentive to do so. Sometimes people can have the greatest idea but if they’re not making money with it, they won’t finish it, even if it CAN earn them money. Which is a shame, really, but maybe people will begin to realize how much they can truly accomplish if they make it all easier for them to do so.
Food for thought.
