If you haven’t read it, there’s a fascinating article and campaign about the Dunkin’ Donuts bus campaign in Korea found here.
It’s not new, but it’s a great example of the interesting things that companies have done to increase sales. If you didn’t read it, the short story is that they used fragrance devices on buses to spray coffee smell when a Dunkin’ theme song came on. It increased business near bus stops by 34%, which is no small feat in today’s coffee addicted world.
But the interesting thing to me is the ability to have the devices that spray the fragrance. You can check out some of the cool stuff that we do on MCS and see how this is possible using a song and trigger. In any case, it’s an interesting way of getting customers to pick up your product.
I love the smell of coffee. Unfortunately for them, the taste turns me off. But I wouldn’t mind smelling it most of the day…
